New Car Inspections

New car buyers and lessees expect to take possession of their new vehicle in pristine condition. However, the road from the factory floor to the showroom floor is fraught with opportunities for vehicle damage, both large and small. AiM provides all stakeholders…automotive manufacturers, marine carriers, port operators, rail and truck transporters, marshalling yard operators, dealers, insurance companies and ultimately, the vehicle end user…with the opportunity for a detailed inspection report at every stage of a new vehicle’s journey to its first owner. As an independent, third party provider, AiM inspectors conduct standardized inspections that guarantee consistent and accurate reports that document a vehicle’s condition.

Damage Prevention Studies

AiM inspectors also are qualified to conduct special “cause and effect” studies that go beyond individual vehicle inspections to help identify problem areas in the transportation process that result in vehicle damage. These studies closely examine processes at any point in the transportation chain to determine how and when persistent damage occurs and recommend prevention measures.

Damage Identification/Classification

AiM also conducts DIT (damage in transit) and MDR (major damage report) inspections to classify vehicles according to a range of disposition categories. These categories determine if a repaired vehicle is sold as new or used or if it is beyond repair and must be destroyed.    In the case of irreparable vehicles, AiM inspectors also are available to serve as “destruction witnesses” to collect verification data as required by law. DIT/MDR reports are crucial to the timely quantification and analysis of damage resulting from catastrophic events such as rail or marine accidents, hail storms, flooding, tornadoes and other natural disasters that damage large numbers of vehicles in a single incident.

Repair Verification/Insurance Estimates/Buybacks/Custom Studies

AiM’s new car inspections can also provide repair verification, insurance estimates, validate “Lemon Law” buybacks, and even provide the data for recall studies and/or custom studies based on a client’s unique specifications.
